Give in Style: Sangaree Observes Breast Cancer Awareness Month

One of D.C.'s newest boutiques, Sangaree's honoring those fighting breast cancer at their Fall Soirée this Thursday, 4 October. An "alternative to the ordinary" (and we're all fans of that, aren't we?), the lovely ladies at Sangaree will be donating a portion of the evening's profits (and a portion of profits from all of October) to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

What: Sangaree's Fall Soirée - fashion show, cocktails, and nibbles
Where: 3288 M Street, NW
When: 4 October, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m

The scoop on the shop? High-end, exclusive, and very carefully selected pieces from a handful of designers. Benedikte Utzon's (Denmark) quietly architectural, mildly luxurious line, Lisa Ho's Australian collection inspired by vintage textiles, Palmer-Jones' (UK) feminine satins, Kyrgystan's DILBAR, headed by Dilbar Ashimbaeva (and noted as an UNESCO woman in culture), Derercuny's (Italy) careful silouhettes, and Louis Verdad's (L.A.) sexy retro.

As always, who can beat shopping while donating? Like the last few events, just might be worth blowing a paycheck (not that I'm advocating anyone's deficit spending, but I'm just saying...)
