Shop and Give in Style: District Sample Sale VIP Ticket Giveaway

I have One Single VIP District Sample Sale ticket. And I'm giving it away.

So, if you've never been (shame on you), or you've been, but would really like that extra hour without quite as many crazed shoppers who might spill their custom cocktails on your new purchases, this ticket could be yours.

Here's how you win it.

1) The most deeply discounted sale pieces are usually spring or summer. What one trend did you skip out on this last spring or summer that you'd snap up in a hurry if you found it at the DSS? Leave your answer in the comments here on this post, on my DC Celine facebook page, or tweet it at me (@DCCeline), hashtag #DistrictSample. Bonus points if you do your research and share the shop that'll be at the DSS where you think you'll find it.

2) Enter by 11:59pm ET on Friday, 20 September.

3) That's it.

Well, then I look at your marvelous entries and decide who's likely to use the ticket to its greatest potential. I'll notify the winner via whatever vehicle they commented, posted, or tweeted on Saturday, September 21st.

What you get:
  • A much shorter line
  • An extra hour of hoards-free shopping, sipping, and nibbling
  • A VIP goodie bag
  • If you want to, the girlfriend shopping experience. In other words, you, @kcesledd, and I can shop together. KC is another stylish friend who'll be joining me at the DSS. So stylish, in fact, that Washingtonian's Shop Around blog featured her
Or not. It's totally up to you. Though I do find that the group shop is very useful in these circumstances. Bag holding and all, while you shimmy into a dress over your clothes.
The details:

Who: You, hopefully! And I'll be there, too. And a bazillion other fashionable ladies.
What: Shopping. Period. This is serious stuff, folks. And it benefits N Street Village.
Where: The Sphinx Club, 1315 K Street, NW
When: Tuesday, 24 September, 5:30 VIP, 6:30 General Admission

And if for some reason you don't want to enter the giveaway, you can go buy a ticket here!

High school Emily is loving the fact that "grunge" is back for fall. I'm dying to find a summer floral dress that I can transform with boots, tights, a cardigan and an emo attitude for fall. And yes I'm going to go listen to my Nirvana cd right now! And count me in for the girlfriend shopping experience!

As much as I'd want to use the VIP ticket to buy anything and everything peplum (it's very flattering for my body shape), I need to restock on some basics like a white button up. I'd love to buy one of The Shirt by Rochelle Behrens shirts! Also, I'm getting married next year and need gold shoes for the big day.Wouldn't be surprised if Sassanova had some for me to snag. Thanks for this great giveaway!

Emily - you *know* how I feel about the 90s!

Samantha - this might be the year I pull the trigger on The Shirt, too! And Sassanova always has great deals - red? blue? What color shoes do you want to get married in? (so exciting!)

ooooh I'm loving this giveaway! as a DCD newb (with no friends in the fashion life to tell me about these things) I'd love to be able to attend and mingle! While I embraced the grunge trend recently, I really wish I had taken in some quality ankle booties, preferably with cut outs from the past few seasons!

Crossing my fingers to win and experience more DC Style!

Hi! I bought my ticket for the sample sale, but would love to give it to my sister to use if I could get a VIP pass to sop with you! I'm accessory designer, so I'm always looking for ways to take pieces easily from day to night. I am jonesing for a top that I can wear with a blazer or cardigan for work and then shed the extra layer for a night out (happy hour, dinner, etc). I think I will be able to find something great at the DSS! Please choose me! :)

Sahra - welcome to our DC fashion world! There's so much here, it's hard to keep it all straight. The DSS would be a great place to get to know local boutiques and their owners as well as some of the area's style mavens!

Laura - can't wait to look at some of your pieces! And day-to-night pieces are a plenty at the DSS - I've found quite a few over the years!
