Did I Meet My Own Challenge?

Don't think so...but I was well intentioned when I woke up this morning. Thought I'd try revamping my old A.T. shift dress by wearing it "jumper style" with an oxford blue button down.

And then I couldn't find the dress in my closet. Who knows. Maybe the drycleaner ate it. H would be happy, given that the last time I wore it, he looked at the shiny seams and worn edges and declared that he had to get me some new clothes.

So I adjusted.

Still workin' the modern schoolgirl with teeny side pleats in my v-necked black shift, but had to go to the accessories for pushing the envelope - and then, I didn't really make it to "challenge level." But a wide black, gold-buckled belt at the waist and my "Dizzy" gold spiral earrings with significant green stones (just the fact that I found them at Scorch in South beach makes me feel better) make a boring A.T. frock at least a leeeetle more today. I failed on the shoes, though. My Brasilian pumps didn't work (they disappeared with all that black), and baby blue wouldn't be right, either, so I went black & comfortable.

Anyone manage to push the fashion envelope today?

I was hopeful when I read of your idea about the shift dress & revamping towards a jumper style . . . have you tried before? As you know, I have endless AT shift dresses . . .

I haven't tried it yet...but as soon as I find my other shift dress, I'll let you know...or you can try and let us know?

I'll try very soon, particularly since I just had a favorite Ralph Lauren oxford altered (brought in, not taken out, thank goodness) and it would be perfect for our little experiement.

No, sorry:( It's just a total guess for how hot/cold work will be so it's hard to dress for it. I'll try something crazier tomorrow. It's also a little disconcerting to know that all day people will be watching you. At my old job I would push the envelope, but knew that for the majority of the day, people wouldn't see me.

Scarlet, it sounds like the "new" thing of layering is perfect for the classroom tempature swings. And there's got to be a way for you to push a teeny envelope, at least. Maybe challenge the color assumptions in your layers?
