Confessions of a Lazy Fashionista

Forgive me, Sisters, for I have sinned...

I wore flipflops to and from work yesterday (my "excuse" was that the shoes I wanted to wear were at work already, and one day won't hurt).

I wore nasty ol' comfy sweatpants disguised as yoga pants (they're not really, and they're all sloppy) when I went for a "fitness walk" with M yesterday.

I didn't wash my face yesterday before I went to bed (but I did run Kiehl's Tea Tree Oil Toner over it)

I'm wearing those same sweatpants today on my "Get Myself In Order Before the Chaos Begins" day (as so many proclaim on all of the style shows, "They're comfortable!).

All of these "slip ups" make me think about Laura on PR. She claims that she always dresses. Always. Her mantra being that "it's a slippery slope, so I just don't go there." Really? Alright. You're about to have your 6th child, you're an architect, and you feel capable and competent every day to put makeup on and use hairproducts.

Right.

Sure.

And while I agree in theory, that the more put together you are, the more put together you feel, it's just not always a reasonable, or even desirable thing.

I proudly admit to committing Sins of Style. And, by the power vested in me by absolutely no one but Blogger, I hereby forgive the rest of you the occasional Style Sin...occasional.

It's got to get colder. I can't stand knowing it's late September and all of those hott Fall clothes are out there, but it's 80 degrees!

I'm changing out of my work clothes into jeans for class tonight. Class is bad enough as it is, I need to be comfy:)

Scarlet, since when are jeans committing a Style Sin?

And for the record - Style and Comfort are by. no. means. mutually exclusive...

Well, last week I pulled the jeans and college sweatshirt look. I was one step away from PJs (which I've never, ever done, by the way.)

here's a confession from another sometimes-lazy fashionista...sometimes I put my makeup on when I'm on the metro. *gasp* I look especially cool when I'm curling my eyelashes.

i think there are some days that we need to just feel relaxed and not necessarily stiffly put together...but it also depends on the occasion...
