Stylish & Loungy

Going right along with my newfound love of house (ok, not really, but it has the same vibe), try this for your next groovy afternoon lounge or cocktail party. It also works well for picking up a work day.

It sounds crazy, but it really works. Cover with zippered bikini bottoms aside...let's see - just whom are they marketing to? Strange, 'cause I really think this is a girl's album, rather than a boy's album. Unless they're trying to tell boys that they'll get girls if they play this. Which is quite possibly true. Takes the rock-star-sex-appeal of the Rolling Stones and brings in the smooth, effortless sex appeal of bossanova, and anything Brasilian, for that matter (again, apparently I'm obsessed with anything Brasilian at the moment - see my recent footwear purchases).

(Thanks to Art With Flowers in Tysons II for the find. Next time you're on the third floor, check it out, next to The Grooming Lounge*. Ecclectic little flowershop cum style house. Somewhere in my purse I have the owner's card. Understated, fun, sense of style. Face, skin, home, table, and cocktail. Never mind he does flowers for all the McMansion's dinner parties. Stories galore, I'm sure!)

*One of these days, I'm going to convince H to go on a research trip for me.

I'm all over the stylish and loungy sounds of Brazilian tunes... And the people - don't even get me started... as sexy as a Samba on a hot, sweaty, dance floor...

I apologize for the lack of Stone knowledge by DC Celine - my work is never done - the zippers are of course a tribute to the Sticky Fingers album cover - probably the most famous rock album cover ever.

Natalie - exACtly...what is it about that place...maybe it's the soft sounds of the Portuguese language...

Anonymous (better known as H) - now WHERE in the world would I have known that if you didn't teach me? I would be nothing without you.
