Need: Rainboots, ASAP

Every time I help The Bean pull on her bright pink L.L. Bean rainboots (with the convenient handles to make it a "bahg! bagh!" when not wearing them - a girl after her mama's heart, where everything turns into a purse), she says, "Mama boot!"

And I have to tell her "Mama doesn't have any boots."

Well, she does, but she can't find them. Somewhere in the nether regions of our condo is a pair of ridiculously useful duck boots - 9", I think. I love them. But I wore them at some point 2 winters ago, and now I can't find them.

So Mama has no boots.

I should hoof it to Target and find a cheap-o - ahem - frugally chic - pair, but word has it that the frugally chic pairs they're selling, well, they stink. Like rubber. So I'm going to take this as a "you get what you pay for" (sometimes) sign, and go to my fave outdoor store. It's about time I ordered them online and just had them in hand.

Now...to choose between classic Wellington green and over-the-top seafood...

You keep telling me you're looking for value (ok, cheap, right now, and I promise more on that soon) in clothes & style. And granted, I seriously doubt the average woman will find a true value at 3.1 phillip lim, but this really, really, really makes me wish I lived in New York. Or at least New Jersey.

Breaking News: Work Gets in Way of Social Life (and Blog)

That whole federal contractor, saving the world, serving our country thing? Well, so not a fan today.

The Government decided to release an RFP we were awaiting - yesterday. Deadline end of May. Translation? MUCHO work for yours truly.

Now, I was waaaaaaaaaay behind on paper (it's all very cemented in my head, really!), and bossman and H (yup, we work together occasionally) would really like to see more progress. But I lost any chance I had of swinging my evening at the DC Scout B-day fest tonight when the Government actually did their job.

Pooey.

So I'll just have to settle for finally getting my hair cut (about 2 months overdue), getting to the doc (5 months overdue), and getting to Erwin (hmmm...probably pushing 6 months - at least).

Then I'll go home, all gussied up, with only my laptop and Big Binder o' Government Documents to keep me company.

Oh, and H. He'll be right next to me with his, though he won't be quite as pretty as I.

More Pink Pumps!

Carebear saw my post yesterday, and laughed. She'd been admiring these at oldnavy.com just yesterday morning. They're still not quite right, but at 19 bucks for the pink version, I think I'll have to purchase!
